Matronas Store will be holding a pop-up vending booth all day (11-6:30 PM) on Saturday, October 14th at the Reno Public Market. The booth will be located inside in the Wandering Wyld Marketplace . We’ll be offering our full collection of handcrafted jewelry and accessories – necklaces, earrings, and unique ethnic-inspired creations. Come check out our rich and varied collection of handcrafts and enjoy the food options at Reno Public Market.

Matronas Store artistry takes its roots in the Afro-Colombian and indigenous handcraft traditions of Colombia and greater South America, but also has a lens on world culture as a whole. The company mission is to produce sustainable fashion that leaves our community in a better position, compensating artists for their hard work while creating beautiful handmade accessories and clothing.


Reno Public Market will also be holding a special event this Saturday at 7 PM – it’s called Latin Social Night. There will be drinks, dance lessons, and latin music. Come and hang out with us during the day and then stay for the dance lessons and music during the evening.

We’ll be offering our full collection of handcrafted jewelry and accessories – necklaces, earrings, and unique ethnic-inspired creations. Come check out our rich and varied collection of handcrafts and enjoy the food options at Reno Public Market.

There are over 18 private food vendors and plenty of seating to relax and enjoy yourselves. The Wandering Wyld Marketplace, where we will be selling our products, is located inside the Reno Public Market and serves as a collective for showcasing and selling local artists’ work. We are pleased to announce that Matronas Store is now open. Matronas was founded by Aracely Rúa Cortes in 2021. As a native Colombian hailing from the coastal Pacific region of the country, her passion and abilities as a designer take root in the rich and colorful cultural heritage of its Afro-Colombian and indigenous inhabitants.

The word “matronas” carries a very important meaning for Aracely and the Colombian culture as a whole, where the head of the family is commonly a female role.

matrona (noun): single mother, head of family; name gives tribute to the matriarchal (motherly) role in society, commonly a descriptor for a strong woman who leads her family and culture as the giver of life and the sole heir responsible for the wellbeing of her children and grandchildren.
